Do your nails look strong and healthy? Are there bumps, scratches, or areas of abnormal color or shape?

We have here how to take care of nails …

Natural and abnormal nails:

Nails are made of coated layers of a protein called creatine in the area at the base of the nail under the epidermis.

Healthy nails: smooth, without pits or grooves, uniform in color and texture, and free from spots or discoloration

Sometimes, harmless vertical edges appear in the nails that extend from the skin to the tip of the nail. The vertical edges tend to appear larger with age. The nails can appear on white lines or spots due to injury, but eventually they grow with the nail.

Nail abnormalities:

1- In the color of the nail, such as a change in the color of the entire nail or the appearance of a dark line under the nail

2- Changes in the shape of the nails, such as wrinkling of the nails

3- Thinning or thickening of the nails

4- Separating the nail from the surrounding skin

 5- Bleeding around the nails

6- Swelling or pain around the nails

7-Failure to grow nails

To keep your nails looking their best:

Keep your nails dry and clean. This prevents bacteria from growing under your nails. Repeated or prolonged contact with water can contribute to split nails. Wear rubber gloves lined with cotton when washing dishes, cleaning, or using harsh chemicals.

Practice good nail hygiene, use sharp nail scissors. Cut your nails straight and cut the ends in a gentle curve.

Use a moisturizer, when using hand lotion. Rub the lotion on your nails and skin as well.

Apply a protective layer. Applying a nail clipper may help in strengthening the nails.

. Ask your doctor about biotin. Some research suggests that a biotin supplement may help strengthen weak or brittle nails.

To prevent nail damage, do not:

Biting your nails, these habits can damage the nail bed. Even a minor cut next to the nail can allow bacteria or fungi to enter or cause an infection.

To remove the nails, the live tissue may tear from the nail. Instead, clip the nails carefully.

Use harsh nail care products. Minimize the use of nail polish remover. When using nail polish remover, choose an acetone-free formula.

Ignore the problems, if you have a problem in the nails that does not go away on its own or there are other signs and symptoms

Consult your doctor for an evaluation.

A note about manicures and pedicures:

If you rely on manicures or pedicures for healthy nails, keep a few things in mind. Stick to salons that offer current state licensing.

It only works with state council-licensed technicians.

Do not remove the excess skin, as it works to block the skin on the nail plate, so removal can lead to an infection of the nail.

Also, make sure that your nail technician properly sterilizes all tools used during the procedure to prevent the spread of infection.
